Comedian and renowned entertainer MURRAY HILL, “the hardest working middle-aged man in show business,” is a relentless retro shtick slinger, buster of audience chops and freewheeling ad-libber. The New York Times anointed Murray “the patriarch of downtown performance.” He’s produced and starred in several theatrical productions: The Murray Hill Show, A Murray Little Christmas, Murray Hill: Caught in the Act, and This is Burlesque. He recently performed with Dita Von Teese for sold-out engagements in Los Angeles and Seattle’s Triple Door. Murray hosted the Immodesty Blaize Burlesque Show at London’s Arts Theatre in the West End. He’s also hosted sold-out burlesque shows at the Bloomsbury Ballroom (London), MTV Italia’s opening party for the Venice Film Festival, NY International Burlesque Festival, and Just For Laughs (Montreal) directed by Thierry Mugler. He’s performed his comedy at top showrooms like Upright Citizen’s Brigade, Gotham Comedy Club, Comix, LA’s Billy Wilder Theater, and headlined his own show at Caroline’s on Broadway. Murray has toured with Le Tigre, hosted The Gossip and introduced the Beastie Boys, Antony and The Johnsons, to name a few. He has been the subject of books, documentaries, radio programs and has been seen on television, films and music videos. Murray has also been welcomed in the halls of academia as a lecturer and performer. He’s been included in “Best of New York” lists in the Village Voice, Paper, GO and New York Magazine; inducted into Paper’s Nightlife Hall of Fame; and selected as OUT magazine’s Top 100 influential performers.
The Reigning Queen of Burlesque, Miss Exotic World Angle Pontani has heen shaking her tail feathers for as long as she can remember. She is one of the most recognized and respected names in burlesque und has been credited with helping to pioneer the new revival. Performing all over the world, Angie spreads the glamour gospel with every shimmy, bump n’grind, high kick and eye trick. She has been featured at private events for STING, ESQUIRE MAGAZINE, HENNESSY, The Fox 5 Super Bowl Party, Virgin Records, The Guggenheim and many others. She strutted her rhinestone studded self multiple times on Late Night with Conan OBrien, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and Gossip Girl. Not one to shy away from the camera, Angiels flashed her pearly whiles for renowned photographers like Ellen Von Unwerth and has been featured in countless prominent publication including The New Yorker, Glamour, The New York Times, Allure,Cosmopolitan, L’Uomo Vogue, Page Six Magazine, TIME, a Peter Werth add campaign, and even InTouch Weekly! This hi ghly decorated Italian-Stallionette was recently named Miss Cyclone 2009 by Astroland in lovely Coney Island in honor of the famed roller coaster. She also recently won the title of Miss Exotic World 2008 at The Palms in Las Vegas.
After making her way to the Big Apple to fullfill her dreams of studying at the Alvin Ailey School of Dance and performing in modern dance companies, Helen decided it was time for false eyelashes and rhinestones, and The World Famous Pontani Sisters was born. Since its inception, the trio of temptresses has changed the face of burlesque as we know it. Helen has dazzled audiences from the gritty big top of Coney Island to the glittering lights of Hollywood, traveling in dozens of national and international tours while making frequent appearances on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, MTV, and VH1 among others. Appearing in showstopping performances that have earned critical acclaim from the Times, Post, Daily News, Village Voice, and Time Out magazine. Last year Helen began focusing on her tap solo act and creating costumes that look like delectable desserts. Known as the Tap Dancing Tornado, she aspires to be the greatest female tap dancer ever!
Peekaboo Pointe, known as the “Delinquent Darling of Burlesque, the Fastest Tassel-Twirler from East to West,” has graced the stage of nearly every burlesque show in New York City. Peekaboo started out as a classically trained modern dancer studying under Bill T. Jones, Mark Morris Dance Group, and a host of other notable choreographers. With an early background in ballet and tap, she eventually ventured off on a rare and unusual tour of Cuba studying Afro-Cuban Dance with the group Cutumba. Since then, Peekaboo has applied her extensive knowledge of dance to the nightlife of New York City and turned it into striptease gold. She embodies classic burlesque glamour, but can’t resist throwing a little seductive shock into each of her performances. As if that’s not enough, Peekaboo’s talented tassels spin not only on stage but also on a higher level. Adoring audiences are left breathless as she performs her rare and impressive shows of skill on the trapeze!
Melody Sweets captivates audiences every time she hits the stage with her ‘chamelion’ like ability to transform herself from a hilarious burlesque doll to cutie sex kitten in an instant… from a 1920’s chanteuse to Rock Goddess and everything in between, and all before the blink of an eye! With two cd’s of original music under her belt, her band Goodfinger, “The future of New York music” (Tom Verlaine of Television) has had music on television channels such as MTV, VH1, ABC family, A&E, the Discovery Channel, National Geographic and Spike TV. She’s hitting airwaves from ‘East Village Radio’ in NYC to Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols’ ‘Indie 103′ in California, and as far away as Indonesia and Amsterdam, Holland! Melody has worked for and along side such acclaimed artists as painter David Remfrey, world famous photographer and author Henry Horenstein, clothing designer Marc Jacobs, Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas, Rock Star Video Games and many more. The World Famous Pontani Sisters are three showbiz siblings raised on a steady diet of MGM Technicolor Musicals & Vintage Vegas chic! The Pontani Sisters have been pioneers in the Burlesque revolution, doing their part to spread their glamour gospel to the masses. Their impeccable choreography and fancy costumes have garnered them international media attention and A-List bookings that include a run at Las Vegas’ Venetian as well as headlining appearances at the largest Burlesque events in the world. They have successfully completed and produced over a dozen national tours and have appeared on Late Night with Conan O’Brien several times.
